Take all admonitions thankfully in what time or place so ever given but afterwards not being culpable take a time & place convenient to let him know it that gave them.

In the moment, be thankful for criticism.  Later in private, if it wasn’t your fault, you can explain.

MADAMA

How you take criticism shows character and self-control. There’s nothing wrong with trying to correct it if you didn’t do it, but wait until alone.

SANDRA

Pushing back in the moment can come across as making excuses instead of righting a wrong.
